DISCOVERY WEST SUMATERA ISLAND
West Sumatra lies in the middle of the western coast of Sumatra, and has an area of 42,130.82 km2. The history of West Sumatra is related to the history of the Minangkabau people.
The province includes many small island like Suwarnadwipa (Gold Island), Cubadak Island, Pagang Island, Mandeh Island, Setan Island, Pamutusan Island, Sekuai Island, and the famous one is Mentawai Island.
This trip allow us to explore from Suwarnadwipa Island to Cubadak Island.
DESTINATION
Suwarnadwipa Island
45 minutes from Padang City and we could explore the nearest island called Suwarnadwipa. We will do the activities like swimming and snorkeling in this island.
Pagang Island
Pagang island is one of the most wanted destinations in West Sumatra since it famous with its white sands, beautiful beach, with an amazing coral reef and underwater life. Pagang which means "Family Unite". There many activities we can do here such as, Fishing, Snorkeling, Hiking, Walking around the Island, Camping, Banana boat and even Scuba Diving
or you can just have a lazy day sun bathing, reading and relaxing on the beach.
Pasumpahan Island
Pasumpahan Island is very small island covers the area around 5ha contain Mangrove forest, Palm trees, White sands, the sea creatures like colorful fishes, sea turtles, and coral reefs ecosystem.
Cubadak Island
Cubadak is of volcanic origin, has an area of 15 square km, is uninhabited except for a few isolated fishermen's huts at the northern tip of the island, and is completely covered by a native rain forest. Cubadak Island is completely surrounded by a coral reef and in the sea live innumerable varieties of colored reef fishes. This island is quiet near to Mandeh Island and it is possible to reach by speedboat.
Mandeh Island
Now popularly dubbed the Raja Ampat of West Sumatra, the Mandeh archipelago is nestled in the Carocok Tarusan Bay and counts a number of islands, among which are the Tarajun, Setan Kecil, Sironjong Besar and Sironjong Kecil, Pulau Merak and the Cubadak Island.Covering an area of 70 hectares of underwater beauty, the islands are fringed with 389 hectares of mangrove forests and white beaches. Its undulating landscape of luxuriant hills and pristine bay area is studded with small islands, a perfect photogenic post card panorama.
